Mattingly was a 19-year-old undergrad at Bard College when he began writing &#8220;Atlas&#8221;; 20 when he finished it. Now all of 21, he graduates next year. &#8220;Atlas&#8221; was first performed in 2011 at Bard and at Galapagos Art Space in Brooklyn by Contemporaneous, the chamber orchestra he co-founded with co-artistic director and conductor <a href=\"http:\/\/www.contemporaneous.org\/About\/DavidBloom\">David Bloom<\/a>, another Bard undergrad. The second movement &#8220;Islanded in a Stream of Stars,\u201d about 22 minutes in length, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.wnyc.org\/shows\/newsounds\/2012\/jun\/07\/\">aired on WNYC<\/a> on June 07, 2012.
