Completely factual, replete with scores of footnotes, it was circulated to friends and then taken up by the London Review of Books, which <a href=\"http:\/\/www.londonreviewbookshop.co.uk\/on-our-shelves\/book\/9781367728233\/boris-johnson-the-beast-of-brexit\">republished<\/a> it after the LRB&#8217;s bookshop customers began asking for it. Of course it did no good. The &#8220;little Englanders&#8221; &#8212; as Williams says Orwell &#8220;would doubtless have called the anxious  xenophobes&#8221; &#8212; won the vote. But the pamphlet and its author, a radical dissenter in the Shelleyean mold, refused to go away. Williams&#8217;s extraordinary text, now updated and expanded, is being brought out in a stunning new edition titled <em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.prruk.org\/product\/brexit-boris-from-mayor-to-nightmare-2\/\">Brexit Boris: From Mayor to Nightmare<\/a>,<\/em> featuring brilliant cartoons by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.andydavey.com\/\">Andy Davey<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thetimes.co.uk\/tto\/opinion\/article4380226.ece\">Peter Brookes<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/profile\/martinrowson\">Martin Rowson<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/profile\/stevebell\">Steve Bell<\/a>, with illustrations by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ralphsteadman.com\/\">Ralph Steadman<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.geraldscarfe.com\/\">Gerald Scarfe<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>To get an idea of the new edition, have a look at these pages. As great as these pages look on onscreen, even as oversize enlargements, they&#8217;re still no match for the impact they make on the printed page.
