The countdown continues at the Bibliographic Bunker, where Jed Birmingham’s top 23 most interesting Burroughs collectibles<\/a> has reached Carl Weissner’s Klacto 23 International<\/a>, the seventh of the Klacto zines, which Birmingham terms “one of the great mimeo mags of the post-WWII era.” Coincidentally, a friend stopped by the rare books room at the Strand<\/a> and caught another piece of Carl’s handiwork, The Braille Film<\/a>,<\/em> his cut-up “novel” with an intro by William Burroughs, and fade-ins by Burroughs, Claude P\u00e9lieu, Wolf Vostell, Alistair MacLean, and British United Press. My friend writes, “I was so thrilled to see BF<\/em> on a prominent shelf that I hardly had eyes for anything else. It was unsigned and the price was $100.” He did notice, however, that “there was also a copy of Brion Gysin Let the Mice In<\/em><\/a> tucked away with the WSB books.” I get a gold star for having a hand in bringing out both (BF<\/em> in 1970 under the Nova Broadcast imprint and Mice<\/em> in 1973 at Something Else Press).

Speaking of the Strand, it would be criminal of me not to note that my book The Z Collection<\/a>,<\/em> which was sold out there, is now back in stock. In case you’re in Manhattan and interested in picking up a copy, it’s prominently displayed on the “literary nonfiction” table in the basement.
