(Click for the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/dp\/B003MNH7JY\">Kindle edition.<\/a>)<br \/>\nNow why would a cultivated classical musician like Fleet &#8212; she plays a mean <a href=\"http:\/\/www.susanfleet.com\/documents\/susan_fleet_trumpet_cd.html\">baroque trumpet<\/a> and also happens to be a <a href=\"http:\/\/archives.susanfleet.com\/\">feminist music historian<\/a> &#8212; bother getting her hands dirty with such a tale?<br \/>\n&#8220;If you&#8217;d like to hear it sometime, I&#8217;ve got a long rationale,&#8221; she says. &#8220;But to cut to the chase, too many of these sickos get off in real life. In my books, the bad guy always gets his in the end.&#8221;<br \/>\nI&#8217;d say she was piping Steig Larsson&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.boston.com\/ae\/books\/articles\/2010\/06\/06\/the_girl_who_kicked_misogyny_and_hate\/\">Lisbeth Salander<\/a> if I didn&#8217;t know better. I met Fleet years ago in Boston, before she moved to New Orleans. She was a feisty original then. Still is.
