If you ever saw <a href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt0033836\/\" class=inline target=new\"><strong><font color=#003399>&#8220;The Little Foxes&#8221;<\/strong><\/font><\/a> you&#8217;d know. Hellman, who was born in New Orleans, based the scheming Hubbard clan in &#8220;Foxes&#8221; on her mother&#8217;s family, which came from Demopolis.<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.hellmanwyler.com\/images\/i_hellman_wyler.gif\" class=inline target=new\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt title=\"WILLIAM WYLER and LILLIAN HELLMAN [Photo courtesy the Wyler family and the Hellman Wyler Festival]\" src=\"http:\/\/www.artsjournal.com\/herman\/hellman%20wyler%20foto%20180.jpg\" width=180 align=left border=0 \/><\/a>The festival will be staging &#8220;The Little Foxes&#8221; and screening the film, along with three other Wyler-Hellman pairings: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt0028356\/\" class=inline target=new\"><strong><font color=#003399>&#8220;These Three&#8221;<\/strong><\/font><\/a> (based on her first play &#8220;The Children&#8217;s Hour&#8221;), <a href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt0054743\/\" class=inline target=new\"><strong><font color=#003399>&#8220;The Children&#8217;s Hour&#8221;<\/strong><\/font><\/a> (a remake more faithful to the play), and <A HREF=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt0028773\/\" class=inline target=new\"><strong><font color=#003399>&#8220;Dead End&#8221;<\/strong><\/font><\/a> (based on a Sidney Kingsley play that Hellman adapted).<br \/>\nAs a Wyler biographer, I&#8217;ve been invited to take part in panel discussions with Deborah Martinson, Hellman&#8217;s latest biographer, and many other <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hellmanwyler.com\/sponsors_guests.htm\" class=inline target=new\"><strong><font color=#003399>invited guests<\/strong><\/font><\/a>.<br \/>\nBack next week.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><br \/>\n<strong>Postscript:<\/strong> March 2 &#8212; I&#8217;ve returned home with several trophies.
