I never did, until composer friend Bill Osborne filled me in. As another friend of mine says, &#8220;Swiss clown? Normally a contradiction in terms, like Swiss Navy. But this guy&#8217;s brilliant.&#8221; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.osborne-conant.org\/Grock\/warum.ram\" class=inline target=new\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Grock (1880-1959)\" src=\"http:\/\/www.osborne-conant.org\/Grock\/warum.JPG\" width=150 align=right border=0 \/><\/a>Have a look. You won&#8217;t be sorry &#8212; and you don&#8217;t even have to know about <a href=\"http:\/\/www.uemusic.at\/truman\/en_templates\/en_werkinfo.php3?werk=4603&#038;spr=en#\" class=inline target=new\"><strong><font color=#003399>&#8220;Sequenza V,&#8221;<\/strong><\/font><\/a> Luciano Berio&#8217;s trombone tribute to Grock, which is their reason for posting the videos.<br \/>\nBy the way, Conant and Osborne are in the midst of a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.osborne-conant.org\/Tour-2006.htm\" class=inline target=new\"><strong><font color=#003399>tour of U.S. universities<\/strong><\/font><\/a> in the Northeast and Midwest. They&#8217;re performing two of their multimedia works, <a href=http:\/\/www.osborne-conant.org\/Tour-2006.htm#prog\" class=inline target=new\"><strong><font color=#003399>&#8220;Cybeline&#8221;<\/font><\/strong> <font color=#0000>and<\/font> <strong><font color=#003399>&#8220;Music for the End of Time.&#8221;<\/strong><\/font><\/a> This week they&#8217;ll be in Ohio at Kenyon College (Tuesday) and Miami University (Wednesday). In case you didn&#8217;t know, Malcolm Gladwell summarized the story of Conant&#8217;s Munich Philharmonic audition to wrap up his latest best seller, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/product\/0316172324\/ref=ase_gladwellcom\/103-7290636-9068606?s=books&#038;v=glance&#038;n=283155&#038;tagActionCode=gladwellcom\"  class=inline target=new\"><strong><font color=#003399>&#8220;Blink.&#8221;<\/strong><\/font><\/a> Conant herself didn&#8217;t know he&#8217;d written it up <a href=\"http:\/\/www.artsjournal.com\/herman\/archives\/2005\/04\/malcolm_gladwel.html\" class=inline target=new\"><strong><font color=#003399>until a friend told her<\/strong><\/font><\/a>.
