Go to the <a  href=\"http:\/\/www.google.com\/webhp?hl=en\" class=inline target=new\"><strong><font color=#003399>Google<\/strong><\/font><\/a> home page.<br \/>\n2. Type in the word <strong>failure<\/strong>.<br \/>\n3. Don&#8217;t click &#8220;Google Search,&#8221; click &#8220;I&#8217;m Feeling Lucky.&#8221;<br \/>\n4. Spread the word before the people at Google &#8220;fix&#8221; it.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>This has been done before, but better. The type-in was <strong>weapons of mass destruction<\/strong>, which brought up a &#8220;cannot be displayed&#8221; page that was really funny because it looked so right and was such a dead-pan gag. The page lasted for a while as a Google re-direct and might still exist somewhere.<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.coxar.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk\/\" class=inline target=new\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Information\" src=\"http:\/\/www.artsjournal.com\/herman\/archives\/information.gif\" width=25 align=left border=0 \/><\/a>Aaaahhhh, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.coxar.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk\/\" class=inline target=new\"><strong><font color=#003399>here it is<\/strong><\/font><\/a>. We took note of it a couple of years ago &#8212; <a  href=\"http:\/\/www.artsjournal.com\/herman\/archives\/2003\/08\/drum_roll_pleas.html\" class=inline target=new\"><strong><font color=#003399>on Aug. 11, 2003<\/strong><\/font><\/a> in our first Straight Up post, to be precise &#8212; and pointed out that the Web wit who thought up the gag and commandeered the Google site was a guy by the name of <a href=\"http:\/\/technology.guardian.co.uk\/online\/story\/0,3605,994676,00.html\" class=inline target=new\"><strong><font color=#003399>Anthony Cox<\/strong><\/font><\/a>. We didn&#8217;t realize it at the time but he&#8217;s a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.blacktriangle.org\/\" class=inline target=new\"><strong><font color=#003399>blogging pharmacist<\/strong><\/font><\/a> with a taste for <a href=\"http:\/\/www.blacktriangle.org\/blog\/?p=1196\" class=inline target=new\"><strong><font color=#003399>Tom Lehrer <font color=#000000><\/strong>and<\/font> <strong>the Amateur Transplants<\/strong><\/font><\/a>. How &#8217;bout that.<br \/>\n<i>&#8212; Tireless Staff of Thousands<\/i><br \/>\n<strong>Postscript<\/strong>: Have a listen to the Transplants&#8217; tune about a &#8220;brand new wonder drug&#8221;: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.union.ic.ac.uk\/medic\/fitness\/tracks\/Paracetamoxyfrusebendroneomycin.mp3\" class=inline target=new\"><strong><font color=#003399>Paracetamoxyfrusebendroneomycin<\/strong><\/font><\/a>. &#8220;It can cure the common cold \/ And being struck by lightning. &#8230; It reverses impotence\/And makes you good at fighting. &#8230; It makes you smart as Einstein \/ And as muscular as Tysin.&#8221; And, not to put too fine a point on it, &#8220;It&#8217;s an antidote to Ricin.&#8221; We want a prescription.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A gag is making the email rounds: 1.
