But my computer seems to be giving me a psychosomatic headache, so I&#8217;ve been procrastinating with a serious intensity.<\/p>\n<p>First, there was the pizza making,<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"mt-enclosure mt-enclosure-image\" style=\"display: inline;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"pizza.jpg\" src=\"http:\/\/www.artsjournal.com\/gap\/pizza.jpg\" width=\"400\" height=\"266\" class=\"mt-image-none\" style=\"\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>then the furniture assembling,<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"mt-enclosure mt-enclosure-image\" style=\"display: inline;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"danger.jpg\" src=\"http:\/\/www.artsjournal.com\/gap\/danger.jpg\" width=\"400\" height=\"266\" class=\"mt-image-none\" style=\"\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>and then, finally, the <a href=\"http:\/\/yeswecarve.com\/\">pumpkin carving<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"mt-enclosure mt-enclosure-image\" style=\"display: inline;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"pumpkin.jpg\" src=\"http:\/\/www.artsjournal.com\/gap\/pumpkin.jpg\" width=\"451\" height=\"296\" class=\"mt-image-none\" style=\"\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve notice lately that I crave creative activity that results in a material object as opposed to an intellectual product. I suspect this may be a reaction to the average 16-hours-a-day I traditionally seem to spend attached to my laptop. <\/p>\n<p>When I was a kid, I really wanted to become a luthier, but it didn&#8217;t seem practical and I never pursued it. So is my sudden obsession with crafty projects just a personal thing, or is this a larger 21st-century frustration that many people who work in purely headspace pursuits are confronting?
