Field Notes is our space to reflect on conversations with leaders in the field and issues we find most relevant or personal to our work environments. It is a place for us to share the ideas of the leaders we have the pleasure of working with and to start conversation on what matters most. These ideas are meant to provide opportunities for others in the field to reflect, share, learn and discuss. Above all else, we want everything we write to be useful.<\/p>\n

We thrive on leaders coming together to find solutions to their challenges. We don\u2019t take this goal lightly. So, we\u2019re trying something new.<\/p>\n

We\u2019re narrowing the scope. We want to talk about the problems that are solvable. Next week we\u2019re kicking off a new kind of blog salon with the goal of hosting four different salon-style conversations a year. Each salon will focus on one question. One question posed to the field. Questions will take on a variety of topics. The goal: gather as many responses possible from you, those of you working in it everyday. We want our readers to hear from each other, to share real world experiences and advice and to walk away with useful ideas they can apply to their work. This is a new process for us. An experiment. And we need your help to make it work.<\/p>\n

Before we share the responses we\u2019ll provide you with resources, articles and other thought pieces that relate to the question. Think of this as your brain juice. Inspiration. As responses come in, we\u2019ll host a Twitter chat to dive deeper, dig up some of the dirt and address new questions that rise out of our discussions. We\u2019ll archive this dirt for future reference and re-hashing.<\/p>\n

While we\u2019re framing the questions, this is about you. This is about sharing with your colleagues and learning from each other. Leave us a note in the comments section letting us know what burning issues you\u2019d like to focus on. Stay tuned. Write us. Ask questions. Participate.<\/p>\n
