He&#8217;s an enthusiast of Nabokov and Proust, and a player of very deep feeling whose treatment of Ives has left some friends spellbound.<\/span><\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/1.bp.blogspot.com\/_yrL6yfubw8g\/S795udnqw1I\/AAAAAAAAAvg\/NBjfA8jMvDk\/s1600\/denk2.jpg\" imageanchor=\"1\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" border=\"0\" height=\"320\" src=\"http:\/\/1.bp.blogspot.com\/_yrL6yfubw8g\/S795udnqw1I\/AAAAAAAAAvg\/NBjfA8jMvDk\/s320\/denk2.jpg\" width=\"211\"><\/a><span><br \/><\/span><br \/><a href=\"http:\/\/www.latimes.com\/entertainment\/news\/la-ca-jeremy-denk11-2010apr11,0,6252473.story\"><span>HERE<\/span><\/a><span> is my piece on Denk, who comes to town next week for two concerts with the LA Chamber Orchestra.<\/span><br \/><span><br \/><\/span><br \/><span>The roots of Denk&#8217;s blog &#8212; which The New Yorker&#8217;s Alex Ross has praised as bearing the kind of voice that could only exist on the web &#8212; begin with him rehearsing Mozart at a church in El Paso.<\/span><br \/><span><br \/><\/span><br \/><span><span>&#8220;This crazy man came into the church,&#8221; Denk recalls, &#8220;and started lecturing me on Mozart and the purpose of music. I wasn&#8217;t entirely sure if he was going to kill me . . . or what.&#8221;<\/span><\/span><br \/><span><span><br \/><\/span> <\/span><br \/><span><span>I urge all music lovers to check this guy out.
