But I&#8217;ll never forget Elizabeth Taylor&#8217;s role in <i>The Sandpiper<\/i> and those great shots of the Big Sur Coast &#8212; perhaps this blog&#8217;s favorite West Coast locale.<\/p>\n<p>Liz plays a free-spirited singled mother, with raffish friends, and nearly bursts out every scene.<\/p>\n<p>Richard Burton (as the headmaster of an Episcopalian boarding school) is great too.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/bit.ly\/eWNcDA\">Here<\/a>\u00a0is a bit on the film.<\/p>\n<p>Rest in Peace, Elizabeth Taylor.<\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>IT&#8217;S hardly a great movie, and it seems quite square and timid in its embrace of what we now know as &#8220;the &#8217;60s&#8221; &#8212; art, bohemia, individualism.
