(Tickets went in a single day.) Now Los Angeles audiences have another chance to see me discuss the subjects I dig into on this blog and in my upcoming book &#8212; at <a title=\"Skylight event\" href=\"http:\/\/www.skylightbooks.com\/event\/scott-timberg-discusses-his-new-book-culture-crash-killing-creative-class\" target=\"_blank\">Skylight Books<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>And I&#8217;m glad to say that <a title=\"Janet Fitch site\" href=\"http:\/\/janetfitchwrites.wordpress.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Janet Fitch<\/a>, the LA novelist (<em>White Oleander<\/em>, <em>Paint it Black<\/em>) &#8212; a fellow advocate of independent bookstores who is congruent with my thinking on many matters &#8212; will join me for a conversation on Sunday March 15. Skylight, of course, is one of LA&#8217;s best bookstores, and I&#8217;ve seen a lot of great author readings and discussions there over the years. One of the store&#8217;s longtime employees is mentioned in my chapter on bookstore clerks; I won&#8217;t menti<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-2917\" src=\"https:\/\/www.artsjournal.com\/culturecrash\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/fitchjanet1.jpg\" alt=\"fitchjanet1\" width=\"150\" height=\"200\" \/>on his name here because it embarrasses him.
