it&#8217;s gotten me thinking about one of the truly coolest people i ever had the pleasure of knowing in roughly 20 years writing about artists of all kinds. \u00a0(it&#8217;s a long tale, but my &#8217;99 new times cover story on claxton, lost to the sands of time until a friend found it <a href=\"http:\/\/jazzprofiles.blogspot.com\/2008\/07\/william-claxton-eye-on-cool-part-1.html\">here<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/jazzprofiles.blogspot.com\/2008\/07\/william-claxton-eye-on-cool-part-2.html\">here<\/a>, with wonderful pics, is the only story i&#8217;ve ever written that&#8217;s literally gotten me a job.)<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><a href=\"http:\/\/articles.latimes.com\/2008\/oct\/21\/entertainment\/et-claxton21\">re claxton, this recent appreciation<\/a>\u00a0is one i&#8217;m sentimental about&#8230;
