{"id":667,"date":"2005-04-05T00:53:47","date_gmt":"2005-04-05T07:53:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.artsjournal.com\/artfulmanager\/wp\/2005\/04\/stocks_flows_and_connectorsoh\/"},"modified":"2005-04-05T00:53:47","modified_gmt":"2005-04-05T07:53:47","slug":"stocks_flows_and_connectorsoh","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.artsjournal.com\/artfulmanager\/main\/stocks_flows_and_connectorsoh.php","title":{"rendered":"Stocks, flows, and connectors&#8230;oh my"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>If you&#8217;re in a particularly wonkish mood, you might be interested in the release and public launch of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.culturaldynamicsgroup.org\/map.php\">Cultural Dynamics Map<\/a>, the first tangible outcome of a collaborative project I helped launch <a href=\"http:\/\/www.artsjournal.com\/artfulmanager\/main\/000341.php\">back in 2003<\/a> along with friends and compatriots Russell Willis Taylor of National Arts Strategies and John Kreidler of Cultural Initiatives Silicon Valley. The map is a first attempt to apply the methods and modeling language of systems thinking to the world of arts and cultural production, consumption, support, and experience in the United States.<\/p>\n<p>For those that have no idea what I&#8217;m talking about, there&#8217;s a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.culturaldynamicsgroup.org\/systems.php\">brief overview of systems thinking and systems mapping<\/a> on the newly launched website of our collaborative <a href=\"http:\/\/www.culturaldynamicsgroup.org\/\">Cultural Dynamics Working Group<\/a>, which will be the base of conversation for this project from now on.<\/p>\n<p>The map and the process may not be for everyone &#8212; in fact, they may not be for anyone.
