They remain a constant that pops up in his sculpture, prints, paintings and drawings. <i>Jasper Johns: Light Bulbs<\/i> is a survey of their appearance from 1957 to 1976, in 17 prints and six sculptures, at the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.henryart.org\/exhibitions\/show\/1104\">Henry Gallery<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p><span class=\"mt-enclosure mt-enclosure-image\" style=\"display: inline;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"jasperjohnsbulb.jpg\" src=\"http:\/\/www.artsjournal.com\/anotherbb\/jasperjohnsbulb.jpg\" class=\"mt-image-center\" style=\"margin: 0pt auto 20px; text-align: center; display: block;\" width=\"400\" height=\"230\" \/><\/span>Johns, who also has a starring role in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.seattleartmuseum.org\/Exhibit\/exhibitDetail.asp?eventID=13787\"><i>Target Practice: Painting Under Attack, 1949-78<\/i><\/a><br \/>\nat the Seattle Art Museum, likes his bulbs burnt out, which is possibly<br \/>\na joke on his status as the idea man of contemporary art.<\/p>\n<p>I love this survey, which originated at the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mcasd.org\/exhibitions\/archives\/jasper-johns.html\">Museum of Contemporary Art in San Diego<\/a>.
