Using women as paint brushes in performance begun with Yves Klein (<i><a href=\"http:\/\/zeynepkinli.files.wordpress.com\/2009\/05\/yves_klein2.jpg\">The Monotone Symphony<\/a><\/i>, 1949, restaged March 9, 1960). Unlike the bar antics of certain talented strippers, Kubota did not paint with an intimate body part. The brush is attached to her underwear.
