Artists do something similar, although to greater acclaim. They destroy books in order to honor them and make them their own.<\/p>\n

The Book Borrowers: Contemporary Artists Transforming the Book<\/i><\/a>  is at the Bellevue Arts Museum through June 14. <\/p>\n

\"3301508666_a100054629.jpg\"<\/a><\/span>Although major figures from the art of the book (Anselm Kiefer<\/a>, Ellen Gallagher<\/a>, Ann Hamilton<\/a>, Glenn Ligon<\/a>, Tim Rollins and the Kids of Survival<\/a> and Ed Ruscha<\/a>), are not here, Book Borrowers<\/i> is studded with gems.
