Richman asked his friends what they thought of the eraser. What eraser, asked Cook. Bishop looked around and nodded. By the time they were old enough to correct a text, they let their pudgy fingers do the walking and press delete&#8230;To somebody who has never seen the original model, Claes Oldenburg&#8217;s eraser looks like an odd abstraction, maybe an orange wheel attached to a beat-up broom. (<a href=\"http:\/\/blog.seattlepi.com\/art\/archives\/108446.asp\">more<\/a>)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<div>Time plucks objects out of its stream and leaves them stranded on the shore. Words too ride a curve around a bend and hurtle forward into a different meaning.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.poemhunter.com\/poem\/lapis-lazuli\/\">Yeats<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"font-size: 14px; font-family: Arial; color: rgb(51, 51, 51);\">One asks for mournful melodies;<\/span><br \/><span style=\"font-size: 14px; font-family: Arial; color: rgb(51, 51, 51);\">Accomplished fingers begin to play.<\/span><br \/><span style=\"font-size: 14px; font-family: Arial; color: rgb(51, 51, 51);\">Their eyes mid many wrinkles, their eyes,<\/span><br \/><span style=\"font-size: 14px; font-family: Arial; color: rgb(51, 51, 51);\">Their ancient, glittering eyes, are gay.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Which brings me to a memento of a Catholic school education in the 1950s, sent by Rooney O&#8217;Neil.
