Instead, it&#8217;s a proposal for a play, an idea roughed out on a three-dimensional drawing board: Trace evidence of birds bursting through a drywall constructed for the purpose. Plot hangs heavy on Nguyen&#8217;s hands, but he is unable to give flesh to its outline. Nguyen is thinking, but not with his hands.<\/p>\n<p>Nguyen, <i>Migration<\/i>, detail, 2010<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"stephannguyenbrds.jpg\" src=\"http:\/\/www.artsjournal.com\/anotherbb\/stephannguyenbrds.jpg\" class=\"mt-image-center\" style=\"text-align: center; display: block; margin: 0pt auto 20px;\" height=\"325\" width=\"433\" \/>Nguyen&#8217;s best installations derive from teamwork with <a href=\"http:\/\/www.wadekavanaugh.com\/\">Wade Kavanaugh<\/a>, who had his own <a href=\"http:\/\/www.suyamapetersondeguchi.com\/art\/2008.asp\">solo show<\/a> at Suyama Space in 2008.
