Keating&#8217;s bird is contemporary<br \/>\nwith an early 20th-Century heart. Beckmann&#8217;s rough paint handling is<br \/>\nthere, his coarse intensity and bursts of bright<br \/>\ntonalities. <br \/>\n<i><br \/><\/i>Keating <i>Lucy, oil\/linen, 2009&nbsp; 9 x 12 inches<\/i><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"andrewkeatingbird.jpg\" src=\"http:\/\/www.artsjournal.com\/anotherbb\/andrewkeatingbird.jpg\" class=\"mt-image-center\" style=\"text-align: center; display: block; margin: 0pt auto 20px;\" height=\"328\" width=\"451\" \/>Beckmann wasn&#8217;t an abstract artist either. Seattle&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sedersgallery.com\/Artists\/004\/JonesRESf.html\">Robert<br \/>\nC.
