The fly-in show opens May 13: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.seattleartmuseum.org\/exhibit\/exhibitDetail.asp?eventID=16652\"><i>Kurt<\/i><\/a>.<br \/><a href=\"http:\/\/www.seattleartmuseum.org\/exhibit\/exhibitDetail.asp?eventID=16554\"><\/a><\/p>\n<div><a href=\"http:\/\/www.henryart.org\/\"><b>Henry Art Gallery<\/b><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.henryart.org\/exhibitions\/upcoming\/1110\"><em>Vortexhibition Polyphonica<\/em><\/a>, opening Oct. 3. Great idea. The Henry looks for interconnections within its collections. <\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Though the Henry is recognized as the region&#8217;s preeminent contemporary art museum, its holdings include 19th-century paintings, contemporary art and photography, textiles and costumes, ceramics, and many other art objects that are little known.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>You bet they&#8217;re little known. If they&#8217;re not photographs from the collection, the Henry rarely shows them, and there is a lot to see.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.henryart.org\/exhibitions\/upcoming\/1111\"><i>Alan Sekula: Waiting for the Tear Gas<\/i><\/a>, photo survey opening Oct. 8. Take a trip down memory lane, back to when Seattle did the World Trade Organization to the sounds of breaking glass and the screams of the wounded, accompanied by the smell of tear gas in the morning.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"mt-enclosure mt-enclosure-image\" style=\"display: inline;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"alansekulariot.jpg\" src=\"http:\/\/www.artsjournal.com\/anotherbb\/alansekulariot.jpg\" class=\"mt-image-center\" style=\"margin: 0pt auto 20px; text-align: center; display: block;\" height=\"322\" width=\"410\" \/><\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.henryart.org\/exhibitions\/upcoming\/1106\"><i>Polaroids: Mapplethorpe<\/i><\/a> opens Oct. 24. It&#8217;s a party favor previously used at a party, but because it&#8217;s by Hein, will be worth seeing.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/fryemuseum.org\/\">Frye Art Museum<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/fryemuseum.org\/exhibition\/3110\/\"><i>Old Weird America: Folk Themes in Contemporary Art<\/i><\/a>, opening Oct. 3, from the Contemporary Museum Houston.
