The Engagement Manager works closely with the Associate Director of Programming, the Exhibitions Program Manager, and other Moss Arts Center staff to develop and manage educational engagement programs relating to K-12 students, building partnerships and creating opportunities for deeper engagement with the arts as a key component of the programming at the Center. The Engagement Manager is responsible for managing all day-to-day aspects of School-Time Matinee programs, on-site special programs for youth, and in-person and streamed educational programs in regional K-12 schools, and for developing resources associated with presented programs and exhibitions.
Key responsibilities include:
- Serving as liaison between educational partners and Moss Arts Center performing arts and gallery exhibitions engagement staffs
- Developing and executing educational activities that engage students K-12 while deepening their understanding of and experience with the arts
- Developing print and web-based curricular materials, assessment tools and other resources to support teachers and teaching artists in the classroom
- Engaging and communicating with artists, artists’ managers and consultants, and collaborating with them to design and produce educational materials, professional development workshops and concerts
- Managing event production in schools
- Coordinating ongoing program assessment and evaluation
- Maintaining educational partner relationships and developing new partners in the New River Valley region of SW Virginia
