We’re sorry you’ve been placed on hold. Here’s some Mozart.

British local authorities play more Mozart than any other composer while keeping their residents on hold, according to a Press Association survey of 150 councils.

There’s no scientific reasons for it. Maybe they got the tapes on the cheap, or maybe they nicked the idea from Classic FM.

Whatever. If you want to complain about a broken street light or a noisy neighbour, be prepared for a dose of Mozart. A very long dose.
