City of London Police appeal for help in Guildhall sex abuse case

We, the City of London Police, have asked Friends Reunited to send this email to all members of their website who are linked to the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.

Please be assured that Friends Reunited have not released to the police any of your personal information.

Over the weekend of 24th/25th August 2013 it was widely reported in the UK media that we have arrested a 62 year old former teacher of the Guildhall School of Music and Drama on suspicion of indecent assault and rape of a 16–year–old girl within the school during September of 1978. The suspect taught at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama between 1972 and 1997.

The City of London Police takes reports of sexual abuse seriously and encourages anyone with any information that may assist with this investigation to make initial contact with us at Please include details of your chosen means of future contact and include prefered times if applicable.
