ARD winner comes from doomed music college

First results are in from the German TV music contest whose most sensational winner was once Thomas Quasthoff.

The bassoon results are in. No first prize, but joint second to Sophie Dartigalongue and Rie Koyama. We hear that Sophie has been offered a seat in the Berlin Phil. Rie is the daughter of the bassoon professor at Trossingen, in a school the German government are planning to shut down.

Third prize went to  María José Rielo Blanco of Spain. No man came close.
