Unknown Messiaen score to receive Sheffield world premiere

They used to make steel in the city. Now, you can hear birdsong.

The English pianist Peter Hill has found a 1961 Olivier Messiaen manuscript in the Paris Bibliothèque Nationale, possibly a movement omitted from the Catalogue d’oiseaux. La Fauvette Passerinette is 15 minutes long. Hill has created a performing edition. he will play the world premiere on November 2. BBC Radio 3 will put it on air.
