It has been more than two years since Rodolfo Cazares was snatched by Mexican drug gangs and no word has been heard of him since. But his wife Ludivine Barbier and the town of Bremerhaven where he worked have not give up hope.
You can hear video snatches of next week’s concert here. We applaud the solidarity shown by musicians of all genres. Details below.
Charity concert for Rodolfo Cazares in Bremerhaven
In a charity concert on 25th August 2013 artists in Bremerhaven want to remind people of the conductor Rodolfo Cazares, who was kidnapped in Mexico. The conductor at the Municipal Theatre was kidnapped during a holiday in his homeland 2 years ago. The money raised at the concert will go to Cazares’s family.
Two years after the brutal attack on Cazares and his family, and there is still no signs of life. The family was attacked by armed men while staying with Cazares’s parents. Women and children were released shortly after. Cazares and two relatives are still missing.
The concert should be a sign of hope, says the organiser Mircea Ionescu – also hope for the family, who will receive the profits from the concert. Well-known faces in Bremerhaven’s cultural scene will be performing at the concert, such as the Municipal Orchestra, the cabaret group ‘Die Muellfischer’, the jazz guitarist Joerg Seidel, the singer Carla Mantel and members of the Tanzetage.
