Dutilleux preludes mark his passing

On the day Henri Dutilleux died, Alexandra Dariescu was playing his preludes. The young Rumanian pianist is recording them for Champs Hill Records in a three-album project together with Chopin preludes. The first volume is now being rush-released. Alexandra talks about the music and plays some here:

  1. Dutilleux’s preludes are beautifully interpreted on this disc. I was lucky enough to get one at the recent RPS awards where it was pre released. Don’t think there’s any rush release though; as far as I know the official release of this disc has always been planned for 7 June right after Alexandra’s Royal Albert Hall concert with Royal Philharmonic Orchestra where btw she’ll be the first ever Romanian female soloist to perform with orchestra (http://londoncalling.com/features/alexandra-dariescu-ode-to-joy)
