New study: choir practice reduces anxiety

The journal  Psychology of Music reports that people who attend choice practice are less likely to suffer from anxiety. That may, of course, depend on who is leading the choir, and the sample group consisted of only 70 students, but here’s the summary for your perusal.

  1. There are so many recent studies demonstrating the intellectual and emotional benefits of music exposure. One wonders why there is so much resistance to including it in schools in the US. Perhaps also in the UK. My knowledge is US-based.

    Perhaps the resistance comes because this information is …. gads….. based on science.
