La Scala is on strike. Again.

The first night of Verdi’s Macbeth, due for Sunday, is cancelled. Valery Gergiev was due to conduct. I guess he’ll find something else to do.

The strike has been called by the three main unions. A spokesman said: ‘we’re working more and earning less.’

The last strike was the chorus, in December.
