Funeral arrangements for much-loved ensemble player

We are informed that the funeral of Carmel Kaine will be held on this Thursday, 2nd May, at 2pm, at St.Mary of Charity in Faversham, Kent.

Here’s a message we’ve been asked to post by one of her many students:

Dear Colleagues,

You may have heard the sad news that renowned violinist and teacher Carmel Kaine passed away a few days ago – a wonderfully generous teacher and inspiring player who will be hugely missed by those who had the privilege of playing and studying with her. For those who wish to attend the funeral the service will be at 2.00 on Thursday 2nd May at St Mary of Charity, Faversham.

Best Wishes,

Sarah Freestone

Carmel Kaine taught my daughter Sarah. She did so much for the Brisbane string world. The music world is better for her controbution both artistically and educationally. So many people are saddened by this news. Does anyone know why her service is in England and not Australia?

Will there be a memorial service on Brisbane?

My Mum died at home in Faversham England which is why the
Service was here. Maybe I should try to organise something
      In Australia as well.
