Eminent Brazilian maestro dies, aged 94

Alceo Bocchino founded the Rio de Janiero radio orchestra which grew into the National Symphony Orchestra (OSN). he worked with every leading Brazilian composer from Villa Lobos on. More here, and interview below (in Portuguese).

    Maestro Bocchino was also a composer and founder of the Symphony Orchestra of Paraná. Much admired and liked by Brazilian musicians, his cheerful and kind smile will be sorely missed by many.
