Carla Bruni’s take on Barbara – and mine

A kind reader has sent us the French former first lady’s version of Göttingen, a song which a former German chancellor once said marked the start of a real conciliation between the two countries. You can see Barbara and Carla below – and my account of the song’s importance on Sunday. We did try to get Ms Bruni to appear on the programme, but she was having a baby at the time.
