Better news: Mayor forces a deal in St Paul

The St Paul Chamber Orchestra, locked out since October for refusing to accept savage wage cuts, could return to work this week after the city’s mayor pressured the administration to soften its demands.

The musicians will still have to accept a salary slash in the order of 18 percent, but after six months without wages or health care, 82 percent of something looks better than nothing.

Credit to Mayor Chris Coleman. Graydon Royce has the full story here.
