Arts, not Beatles, make Liverpool a tourist magnet

  1. Thanks for highlighting this article. As someone born, living and working in Liverpool it has been a wonderful experience to see the transformation of the city, over the past ten years in particular, from basket-case to a truly international city. The association with the Beatles (and football) continue to be an ‘interest’ for visitors but what really attracts folk is the vibrant arts and social scene against the backdrop of a cityspace that spans the 19th 20th and 21st centuries.

  2. …not forgetting the 18th century; Liverpool has more listed Georgian architecture than any other UK city apart from London and Bath.
