Anna Netrebko named among world’s top do-gooders

A poll by RU News names the opera diva as the only Russian in a list of public figures who strive to make the world a better place.

She is cited for her charity Anna Netrebko and Erwin Schrott for Kids, which supports pediatric hospitals and educational facilities.

The soprano is home in Vienna this week, making her role debut as Tatiana in Eugene Onegin.

    I have the luckiness to meet her several times at stage door. Anya is an extremely nice person. And she’s the only singer I’ve ever seen that would bother to come out from backstage to sign and pose for fans before going back to after party.
