The music world of San Francisco is still in shock at the stroke on February 23rd that felled the Symphony’s principal oboist, William Bennett, while he was playing the Strauss concerto, and his death later that same week. To honour his memory, the orchestra and radio station KDFC are making available Bill’s powerful and serene performance of the concerto in the previous concert.
