His 4.5 million views for this cover of the theme song of HBO’s Game of Thrones series won him a slot on The Colbert Report. He has nowhere to go but mass market.

Tainwanese by origin, Los Angeles based, Jason is part of Madonna’s backing group on world tours.
It’s well-executed, but it’s sad that something with so little musical content can go viral like that. Compare it with for instance http://youtu.be/zHJSWe91sQ8 or http://youtu.be/FWwukihlvIQ which are light years ahead.
There must be something really wrong with general musical education.
Actually, I strongly prefer Game of Thrones over either of Adam Spiers’ recommended videos. Perhaps it’s just a question of differing musical tastes?
