Vladimir Malakhov, who has directed the Berlin State Ballet for ten years and danced as one of its stars, is calling it quits at the end of next season.
No reason given. Malakhov, 45, trained at the Bolshoi school from the age of 10.

When was Malakhov a Bolshoi director? He danced as a principal at ABT for many years, but I don’t believe he had any company leadership experience prior to the Berlin appointment.
