Here’s one more reason – in addition to many – why HMV was such a useful shop. I usually buy only Classical music on CD. Having recently been made aware of the German electronic group, Kraftwerk, and wanting to buy a CD, what do I now do? Yes of course I can use amazon to buy, but as I am completely unfamiliar with pop music dealers, at least I could have gone to a branch of HMV and been in familiar territory, just in a different department.
