We give them our sweaters: Brit takes charge of Danish publisher

It’s not all one-way traffic, with The Killing, Borgen and Hamlet holding the UK to ransom.

Becky Dawson, head of repertoire promotion at Oxford University Press. has been named chief executive of Danish music publisher, Edition S.

Yes, she wears sweaters.

Welcome to the New CEO of Edition·S

The English-born Rebecca Jane Dawson, who previous has been “Head of Repertoire Promotion” at Oxford University Press and Universal Edition, has filled the post as Edition·S’ new CEO. Rebecca has great knowledge of contemporary music (she wrote her dissertation about Arvo Pärt’s church music) as well as management, communications, promotion and marketing. In addition to that she has great knowledge of the Danish music scene and its composers, a knowledge she will extend by moving here in the beginning of 2013 when her contract begins.

At the same time the board of Edition·S has chosen to restructure the publisher’s management in order to divide the responsibilities between a CEO and a Vice President. Christine Canals-Frau, who has managed the publisher since former CEO, Klaus Ib Jørgensen, left the post this summer for a job with the Danish National Chamber Orchestra, fills the post as Vice President.

We look forward to future collaborations with Rebecca and Christine, and give a heartfelt welcome to Rebecca!

Best regards,
Chairman Svend Hvidtfelt Nielsen
