Rock opera rolls back from the restless dead

The Who have announced a summer Euro tour of their 1973 genre-bender, Quarophenia. Tempted? Me, too,

The ‘Quadrophenia and More’ European tour will begin in Dublin on 8th June and take in the O2 Arena in London, before finishing in Amsterdam on 5th July. Full details here.

  1. Paul Kelly says:

Rock music often drowned itself in the trite and the stupid. Thanks largely to Pete Townshend’s almost neurotically driven talent The Who produced some great music that reflected the social atmosphere of its age far more acutely than most. Quadrophenia is a tragic yet magnificient piece that genuinely deserves the title ‘Opera’. Be good to see on stage and hope the live version lives up to the superb recording.
