Svetlana Lunkina has given an interview to Izvestia, explaining her withdrawal from the rest of the season. She says that she and her husband, director Vladislav Moskalev, received threats from associates of Vladimir Vinokur, with whom her husband had a film involvement.
When her Facebook page was hacked, she sought protection from the Bolshoi and its artistic director, Sergei Filin. She received no answer.
Lunkina expressed horror at the acid attack on Filin.

In an unrelated Izvestia report, Filin’s wife, the dancer Maria Prorvich, said his bandages were briefly removed yesterday and he was able to read four lines of text. He will be flown to Germany soon for advanced treatment for his optical and facial injuries.
No arrests have been made.
