Monks displace masochist porn in US classical sales charts

We’re delighted to report that the Fifty Shades of Grey album has been knocked off the top of the US Nielsen sales charts. The new #1 is Decca’s Benedictine Monks singing Advent at Ephesus on their first week of release. It sold twice as many albums as the smut spinoff.

In third spot is Max Richter’s recomposed Four Seasons.

Such a relief to see virtue triumph over sin.

    It’s all crap and tat though really isn’t it, in those charts. I’ve recently taken to listening to entire operas on Spotify. Amazing what there is on there, if you can find it, it’s a far richer resource than even any university music department library…
