This is obviously first and foremost a personal tragedy, although we don’t yet know the circumstances of his death. However, the LSO don’t appear to have yet filled the vacancies caused by John Lawley’s retirement and Emmanuel Abbuhl’s departure, therefore, out of a full complement of four, the only position which is filled is the cor anglais. This obviously will make it very hard for Christine Pendrill, both personally and professionally.
Very sad. My thoughts are with his friends and family at this time. A wonderful player, he will be missed.
R.I.P. Will be sadly missed.
