China-Japan row claims first musical cancellation

Yundi Li’s tour of Japan has been called off, apparently on Beijing orders. The official statement reads:

“The Chinese government has advised that Yundi Li’s visit to Japan be suspended due to the Senkaku problem. Because he is unable to come to Japan, his tour will be canceled.”

I wonder when Lang Lang is due there.

UPDATE: He’s due there January 13. Better make peace soon.
