Although I spent an hour reading the synopsis before the preformance at Glyndebourne, I hadn’t a clue what was going on on-stage. There were all these children running about dressed as rabbits, chickens, badgers, frogs and fox cubs and only had a few lines to sing between them. I’m sure they enjoyed it but I didn’t. The music, however was fine.
