Jonas Kaufmann announces earlier comeback

Munich has just announced he’s up for a Winterreise on 18 July – sooner than most expected. Read it here.

    That would be really nice and everyone would be happy, but could you tell us where and when he announced that he will be back for the Winterreise ? Not to talk about the concert in Linz which is scheduled 4 days before. The recital in Munich is on the website of the Bavarian State Opera since about one year.

    I fail to see any importance to this announcement. He already proved he’s not up to Wagner at the Met. Die Winterreise? Give me a break!

    I have been waiting expectantly and with fingers crossed for news of Jonas Kaufmann’s return to the world of music. Can’t wait – I now have ALL his current DVDs, nine in total and presently playing his Mozart, Schubert, Beethoven, Wagne rand Mahler CD. Thanks for the information Norman!
