The pianist/composer whose videos of fake Mozart, Haydn and Mendelssohn have magnestised our attention these past few days has let the mask slip to show himself playing piano – genuine Prokofiev, as it happens – for his children at home, somewhere in Illinois.
His full name and credentials will be revealed tonight – and some of the professional detail may surprise you. Meantime, we should be grateful to him for the entertainment and enlightenment. Future hoaxers will have to try much harder to surmount the learned scepticism of Slipped Disc and its readers.
