Bloggers pick: Paintings to movies

On Monday I listed five paintings that could be movies. Today bloggers respond.

  • DC-based artist James Huckenpahler gives us paintings, screenwriters, directors, actors -- and a David Reed.

  • Art or Idiocy includes plots;

  • I can't decide if Ed Winkleman plays fair or if he's cheating;

  • Heather Lowe gets Wesselmann and Rubens on the same list;

  • I think that Mary Ann's would be horror movies;

  • Any list with David Park on it works for Franklin Einspruch -- and me too;

  • Carrot Revolution's point about Magritte is a good one;

  • Hey look: John Firestone also thinks that Georges de la Tour is underappreciated (Last September I wrote about two fabulous dlT's at Ess Eff's Legion of Honor;

  • Ian Hill picks a Bosch -- of course!;

  • Brent Burket has attitude... but not too much attitude to include Thomas Cole;

  • Maybe one reason I think Robert Olsen is a stud painter is because he likes stud paintings;

  • Glasstire's Bill Davenport thinks my idea is dumb, but picks a smart Velazquez.
